PVC-U product and mold design requirements

1. Scope of application: PVC-U products such as Solid wall tube, suitable for municipal engineering, outdoor public buildings, residential areas buried sewage, drainage, exhaust, communication cable wiring, etc. It is also applicable to low-pressure water transmission irrigation, industrial drainage and sewage discharge projects, etc.

2. Appearance requirements: the inner and outer surface of the pipe should not have air bubbles, visible impurities, traces of thermal deformation and other surface defects affecting the product performance. The end surface of the pipe shall be cut flat and perpendicular to the axis. True impact rate method is applicable to the type inspection, and passes the factory inspection.

3.PVC-U mold design requirements

Mouth die design: mouth die section determines the shape of the mouth mold and the size of the mouth mold gap, which is the most critical size of the extrusion head. For PVC-U pipe, the mouth gap should be uniform and circular gap.

Shunt design: the shunt support bar is required to be designed to divide the material flow into several shunt channels. The principle of circular equal separation is generally adopted, and the material flow is divided into 6~10 parts.

Compression plate design: a reasonable compression ratio should be designed to improve the density of the profile.

Machine neck design: PVC-U pipe neck design should use the inlet and outlet size difference is small (or the same) round.

The inner diameter D of the mouth die: the outer diameter d of the pipe and the compensation coefficient K (D=d / K) should be considered.

Length of shaping section L1: when calculated according to the outer diameter of the pipe, L1=(0.5-3)D; When calculating the wall thickness of the pipe, it should be determined according to the specific formula and the nature of the plastic.

4. Other points of attention:

1) The wall thickness of the product is as uniform as possible, and the wall thickness is not too thin, generally not less than 1.2mm, and about between 1.5-5mm.

2) The molding shrinkage rate of PVC-U is between 0.6% and 1.5%, requiring the product to have a certain release slope, generally 1. -1.4. , For porous products or release resistance larger products mold slope is larger.

3) All conventional gates can be used, should be large, to prevent the dead corner block material, generally not less than 1MM or 1MM thickness.

4) The flow channel should be large, the reverse of the flow channel should leave enough cold holes, each turning position should be smooth, as far as possible.

5) Due to the low forming temperature, in order to prevent cold material from blocking the gate or flowing into the mold cavity, enough cold material holes should be opened at the end of the mainstream channel, and cold material holes should also be opened for long diversion channels.

6) In molding, most of the molds are water cooling to control the mold temperature, but at the same time, in order to improve the appearance of products, sometimes heating / cooling method is also used to control the mold temperature. The range of mode temperature control is between 30 and 60℃.

7) In order to prevent the corrosion of hydrogen chloride gas, the flow channel, cavity and other parts of the mold should be chrome plated, and anti-corrosion treatment or made of wear-resistant or corrosion-resistant materials.
