Solution for product warping and deformation during injection molding

The warping and deformation caused by injection molding refers to that the shape of injection molding products is distorted and uneven, which deviates from the shape accuracy requirements of the manufactured parts. It is one of the common defects that are difficult to solve in injection mold design and injection production.

Reasons:

lThe mold temperature is not uniform, and the internal temperature of the plastic parts is not uniform.

lPlastic parts wall thickness difference and uneven cooling, insufficient cooling time, no average cooling contraction.

lThe temperature of plastic parts is high or the force is uneven.

lResidual stress caused by the forming conditions.

lStress deformation caused by poor release.

lPlastic parts of the improper shape, belong to the curved or asymmetric shape of the plastic parts.

lThe mold has poor accuracy and unreliable positioning.

lImproper position of feed port, poor injection process parameters make obvious direction and uneven contraction.

lThe difference between the flow direction and the molecular chain orientation perpendicular to the flow direction results in different shrinkage rates.

Corresponding solution:

lAdjust the mold temperature to ensure that the mold temperature is uniform to reduce the uneven temperature inside the plastic parts.

lTry to make the product wall thickness as uniform, contribute to the average cooling contraction, reduce the possibility of warping deformation.

lIncrease the number or area of the push rod, and set the release slope.

lReduce the injection pressure and speed, increase the resin temperature or annealing, make the mold temperature uniform, and reduce the residual stress.

lReasonably arrange the jacking position or increase the number of top rods, to ensure that the plastic parts jacking out when the even force, to avoid the excessive local force.

lAdjust the cooling method or extend the cooling time, and set up the cooling loop close to the deformation place. Ensure that all parts of the plastic parts are cooled evenly to reduce the shrinkage difference.

lOptimize the mold design, improve the mold accuracy, and ensure the reliable positioning.

lConsider the fluidity and filling state of the plastic parts when designing the design, and use the appropriate gate type (e. g., multiple point gates or film gates).

Adjust the feed inlet position and the injection process parameters, so that the contraction direction is not obvious, and the contraction is more uniform. Resin with large shrinkage rate, crystalline resin (such as polyformaldehyde, nylon, polypropylene, polyethylene and PET resin, etc.) than non-crystalline resin (such as PMMA resin, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, ABS resin and AS resin, etc.) deformation.
